Waste

TIMWOODS. This is not a gentleman I know, is it? It just depends on how you look at it. In any case, it is a mnemonic to remember which ‘waste’ can exist in an organization, or more specifically, in a process. And each waste can be solved with a Kaizen and means more efficient and effective work, which in the end benefits the result (whatever the result).

5S

5S. Actually, 5S is the tool that, if you explain it, everyone will seemingly understand and can / want to apply immediately. 5S is a logical step-by-step plan to keep your environment orderly, neat and safe. But this is not done easily, because people in a team or organization are often sloppy and individualistic. And, it does require discipline & teamwork. Collaboration, commitment. And, standardization.
